Who are we?
South Park Yoga is a down to earth neighborhood yoga studio in San Diego (family owned since 2002). We are dedicated to providing a welcoming, clean and zen space, with knowledgeable and caring instructors. We provide classes that support well-being for all yogis from total beginner to advanced.

What is the studio’s mission or philosophy?
We believe that yoga is not only a work-out but also a work-IN, and that yoga is for every- BODY! 

How do I sign up?
You can sign up for classes at South Park Yoga  and create an account easily on our website or by using the Mindbody app. Students are encouraged to register online before their visit for a smooth check-in.

Do you offer intro deals or packages?
Yes, we offer an introductory 2-week unlimited pass for new students, allowing you to try out as many classes as you like in 14 days. It’s a great deal! A portion of every new student special sold goes to a non-profit called Generate Hope, which provides safe housing healing and long-term support for survivors of sex trafficking. 

What should I bring to class?
Bring a yoga mat (Loaner mats are available), water, and a small towel. All other yoga props like blocks, bolsters and blankets are provided. Shoes are not allowed in practice areas; socks are optional. Wear comfortable workout clothing. 

How early should I arrive?
Please arrive 10–20 minutes before class starts to settle in, set up your mat, and meet your instructor. Classes start on time and the door is locked - late arrivals can’t attend. 

What if I’m nervous as a beginner?
Feeling nervous is normal! Our staff and instructors are here to support you, and classes include students of all backgrounds and abilities. 

Should I tell the instructor if it’s my first time or if I have any special situations?
Yes, let your instructor know if it is your first visit or if you have injuries, limitations, or are pregnant. This allows us to offer modifications and extra support.  

Do I need to be in shape or experienced to attend?
No experience or athletic background is required.  If you are brand new to yoga, Please visit our Beginners page for a list of all our beginner level classes.


Are instructors beginner-friendly?
Absolutely. Instructors are chosen for their warmth, experience, and ability to make each student feel welcome and successful.

What types of classes are available?
We offer a variety of yoga styles including Hatha, Vinyasa flow, Restorative, Yin, Gentle, Sound Healing, Pre-Natal and Healthy Backs classes. 

How long are classes?
Most classes are 60 minutes, some are 75 minutes. Workshops or special series may run longer—please check the schedule for details.

Is the studio heated?
Yes.  The room is generally heated to a warm and comfortable 75-80.  There is a vent fan to keep the studio well ventilated.   We do not offer “Hot Yoga” classes.

Is there music in class?
Most classes include thoughtfully curated music playlists, or feature gentle ambient sound.

Can I attend if I’m pregnant?
Many classes can be safely adapted for pregnancy. With your doctor’s approval, please notify instructors before class for guidance. Also, check out our weekly Pre-Natal class. 

What if I have an injury or want to modify movements?
Instructors offer modifications for injuries and limitations. Share any concerns before class with the teacher.

Are classes suitable for older adults or those with injuries?
Yes, we welcome all ages and provide gentle, accessible, and restorative options as well as guidance for injury recovery.

What ages can take class?
Generally, students must be age 14 or older. Teens need a signed parental consent form. Please contact us for youth options or questions.  There are a few teachers that allow younger students.   Please contact us in advance if you wish to bring your child. 

Booking & Attendance

How do I book a class?
Book via our website or the Mindbody app. It’s simple—choose your class, sign in, and reserve your spot.

How do I make sure I get into the class I want?
Please book online before attending class. Popular times and instructors can fill up quickly. Join the waitlist if a class is full.

Can I cancel a class I booked?
Yes. Cancel online or using the app. Make sure to cancel before the cancellation window closes to avoid fees or lost credits.

What is your cancellation policy?
Please cancel at least 4 hours before class to avoid losing your session or incurring a late-cancel/no-show fee.

What if I’m late?
Doors close at the class start time for the comfort and safety of all students. Please arrive early; late arrivals will not be admitted.

What if a class is full?
Join the waitlist via our system. If a spot opens up, you will be notified by email or the app and automatically enrolled.

Do classes fill up?
Yes, especially at prime hours. Booking in advance is recommended.

Can I host a private event at South Park Yoga?
Yes! We offer private classes for events, teams, or small groups, either in-studio or offsite. Contact us at info@southpark.yoga to arrange details.

Membership, Pricing & Deals

What are your membership options?
We offer both monthly unlimited memberships, class packs, and drop-in rates to suit every lifestyle. See our website for current options and pricing.

Do class packs expire?
Yes. Check online for class pack expiration.

Can I freeze my membership?
Members may freeze their membership once per year, typically up to 30 days. Email us at least 15 days in advance for specific arrangements.

Do you sell gift cards?
Gift cards can be purchased online or in-studio for any amount..

Do you offer student, military, senior, pricing?
Yes, discounted rates are available for qualifying individuals with proper identification.

What is the studio refund / credit policy ?
We understand that plans and schedules can change, so while South Park Yoga does not offer refunds for class purchases, memberships, or workshops, we do offer credit towards another class or date whenever possible. Just reach out to our team in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Are there showers or locker rooms?
We provide clean restrooms which also double as changing areas, but we do not have showers or dedicated locker rooms.  We do have cubbies for your belongings,  located in the lobby.

Is there parking available and/or bike racks?
Street parking is plentiful; some bike racks are available near the entrance. Parking is free.  It’s a popular neighborhood, please arrive early to allow time for parking.

Is the studio wheelchair accessible?
Yes, our studio is accessible and committed to accommodating all students. Contact us to discuss any specific needs.

Studio Policies & Etiquette

What are your studio etiquette guidelines?
Arrive early, silence your cell phone, and enjoy the calming, community vibe.

Can I use my phone or smartwatch in class?
We ask that you don't take cell phones into class unless necessary.  Use of electronics during class is discouraged to promote mindfulness.

Should I wipe down equipment after class?
Yes, please use the provided sanitizing wipes to clean your loaner mat and any props you used.

When is it okay to chat in class?
Please keep conversation light before or after class to allow everyone to enjoy peaceful practice time. 

Any tips on mat placement?
Follow the instructor’s direction and respect personal space—especially during crowded classes.

Should I wear shoes in the studio?
Shoes are not allowed in our practice rooms. Store them in the cubbies when you arrive

Should I wear perfume or spray in class?
Please avoid heavy scents and fragrances to keep the air fresh and inclusive for sensitive students.

Can I manage my membership or account online?
Yes, your membership, schedule, and account details can be managed through our website or Mindbody app.

What should I do if I have technical problems with the app?
First close and reopen the app. Then try deleting and reinstalling the app. If issues persist, reach out via email and our staff will help quickly.

What if I forgot my password?
Click “Forgot Password” on the sign-in page to reset, or email us for assistance.

How do I give feedback or make a complaint?
We welcome feedback in person or via email. Your input helps us continuously improve.

Do you offer live stream or virtual classes?
Yes, many classes are live streamed via Zoom.

Are kids’ or family yoga classes available?
We occasionally offer youth or family yoga classes—check our schedule or ask for current offerings.

Are pets allowed in the studio?
Only service animals are permitted as allowed by law.

What safety/cleaning protocols are currently in place?
We follow enhanced cleaning, sanitation, and capacity guidelines. 

Are there membership referral perks or rewards?
Yes.   All monthly Auto Pay members are allowed to bring a guest once per month to any of our classes.   Workshops or special events are excluded.

How is instructor education or training addressed?
All instructors are certified and pursue ongoing education. Many are experienced in specialty areas like injury, recovery, restorative modalities, or meditation.

What is your lost and found policy?
Left items are kept at the studio for a limited time—please notify us asap if you think that you might have left something at the studio so we can look for it and hold it for you.

Do you have donation/community classes or sliding scale options?
Yes, we do offer a sliding scale along with volunteer opportunities.   Please contact us if interested.
