Sound is magical! Try a Sound Healing!
You know how your favorite song can you take you back to a certain time or event in your life, or make you feel an emotion? That’s because SOUND is extremely powerful! The rhythm and melodies have an effect on us! Ever since we were in the womb, we heard sounds… The heart beat of our mother, and our own. Even our breathing is rhythmical. Sounds/(music) can take our mood UP, or bring it DOWN. It is strong and powerful.
For thousands of years, SOUND has been used in numerous cultures as a tool for healing.
Sound baths/ sound immersions/healings essentially are a practice of intentionally quieting the mind and stilling the body, and mindfully listening to the sounds. You usually get comfy with a blanket and or pillow or bolster, and lie down on a yoga mat, to relax and listen to the sounds made by your instructor. It is a form of meditation and helps to facilitate shifts in our brainwave state by using entrainment, the natural process of a rhythmic pattern, which induces other organisms to fall into the same rhythm. We can entrain our brainwaves and it then becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (our normal waking consciousness) to alpha (our relaxed consciousness), and even reach theta (the meditative state) and delta (sleep; where internal healing can occur).
