Join Physical Therapist & Yoga teacher, Dr. Amelia Chang for a Therapeutic Yoga Workshop.
As we age, we may experience more joint stiffness or inflammation.
In addition, 1 in 3 (aged 50+) have increased risk of developing brittle bones, stooped posture and fractures. Many physical symptoms like pain, stiffness, and psychological stress and anxiety can be addressed through regular yoga practice.
Yoga comes in various forms. Yoga improves joint flexibility, strength and balance. With greater awareness of your body’s capability to move safely, Yoga can contribute to your healing.
IN THIS (2 hour) WORKSHOP, you will learn:
Do’s and Don’ts: Movements that are safe and movements to avoid in yoga and daily life.
- Perform 12 key yoga poses to help improve joint mobility, bone health and balance.
- Learn how to adapt poses to your level of experience or physical limitations. All levels are welcome.
- Begin a regular home practice.
This workshop is open to BEGINNERS and Yoga Teachers.
All levels incl. beginners and Yoga teachers are welcome FEE - $40

Crystal Bowl Sound Immersion:
This sound practice portion of
Class will emphasize 7 Crystal Bowls, which are attuned to the 7 primary chakras located along the spine. This tradition teaches that the "mind" is not simply contained within the confines of the brain and skull, but the "mind" is contained within the entire physical body. The chakras are energy centers that provide a road map to our holding patterns of predictable and mappable thoughts and feelings and emotions. Stuck energy in the form of negative, painful, or problematic emotions can lead to tension, tightness, and pain patterns throughout the body. This practice is designed to process through and resolve these holding patterns by moving energy.

The Beauty of Sound Healing
You know how your favorite song can you take you back to a certain time or event in your life, or make you feel an emotion? That’s because SOUND is extremely powerful! The rhythm and melodies have an effect on us! Ever since we were in the womb, we heard sounds… The heart beat of our mother, and our own. Even our breathing is rhythmical. Sounds/(music) can take our mood UP, or bring it DOWN. It is strong and powerful.
For thousands of years, SOUND has been used in numerous cultures as a tool for healing.
Sound baths/ sound immersions/healings essentially are a practice of intentionally quieting the mind and stilling the body, and mindfully listening to the sounds. You usually get comfy with a blanket and or pillow or bolster, and lie down on a yoga mat, to relax and listen to the sounds made by your instructor. It is a form of meditation and helps to facilitate shifts in our brainwave state by using entrainment, the natural process of a rhythmic pattern, which induces other organisms to fall into the same rhythm. We can entrain our brainwaves and it then becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (our normal waking consciousness) to alpha (our relaxed consciousness), and even reach theta (the meditative state) and delta (sleep; where internal healing can occur).
